Sleeping disorders?

Question by Kristen: Sleeping disorders? Im not sure if this is a sleeping disorder or not but it happens about every 2 nights or so. When I go to sleep i will be in the middle of a dream but im fully aware that im sleeping and it is like im awake and then a tingly feeling goes all across my head and i go completely numb and I know im awake but i cant get my eyes to open and I try to move my arms and legs but they wont go. After a little time im always able to open my eyes and get my body to move. is this anything I should worry about?

It sounds like sleep paralysis. My boyfriend used to get that a couple times a month for several years, and this has happened to me a couple times and can be very scary, but since it's not recurring we didn't do anything about it. Sleep paralysis can be present in various sleep disorders including narcolepsy, so if you have other symptoms like excessive daytime sleepiness you might want to see your doctor to get that evaluated, get a sleep study, etc.
